Jak Through the Years

BEHOLD.  THE MANY FACES OF JAK.

Each menu option is the is how Jak appeared in each game, the labels being the location where the game was centered, with the exception of Kid Jak, who is also from Jak II.

Jak and Daxter: Sandover; a sweet, young mute who has grown up in a peaceful village filled with green.  His curiousity and sense of adventure often get him into trouble.
Jak II: Haven City; After being thrown centuries into the future where he was then imprisoned for two years, this Jak is angry and ready to fight.  After his escape he finally began to speak.  It was in this future he found his child-self Kid Jak, who was then sent to the past.
Jak 3: Spargus; One year later, Jak has been exiled to the Wasteland and left to die, where he is then taken in by the desert-hardened people of Spargus, then forced to save the very people who turned their backs on him.
Jak X: Kras City; Another year later, Jak and his friends are called to Kras City to participate in savage combat races.  They have to win in order to save their lives and Jak's not about to take crap from anyone.

The background is Haven City.

For some reason, this took WAY longer than it should have.  It think because I wanted to make everything perfect, and even then I'm still bothered by a few tiny things.  *coughstupidwhitepixelscough*  At first, I wanted to also include Jak from Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, but I could find any decent concept are of him.  It's also now that I realize there are a few more forms of Jak I wanted to add.  Oh well, I'll do that later.

Buttons are wonderful.  I love them, and I will certainly use them in the future.  Looooooove them.  The Actions window is an amazing tool.  It can do so much.  Once I got using it down, all of the rest of the buttons took a matter of moments to make.

More than Just Snow has Fallen

EDIT: I added a play button to the animation.  I wasn't sure if I was supposed to just reload it, but I didn't want to have two of the same animations on the same page, so you get an edit.  Buttons are eeeeeasy.

Falling snow motion guide, FINALLY.  I HATE YOU SNOWFLAKES.

Now I have nothing against Top Hat, the owner of the hat.  This is my act of defiance against Patricia's supposed death, Patricia being the young girl.  Though I do understand the reason for which she was/will be/would be killed.  I say it like that because her fate isn't decided upon yet.

I love motion guide, motion guide, motion guide~

Okami Amaterasu

TWO IN ONE.
This project includes both the Fireworks Magic Wand Tool and the Ken Burns Effect all in one go.  Bottom line: I LOVE THE MAGIC WAND TOOL.  It works wonders.

Okami for the WIN.  I can't wait for the sequel. Aww, I forgot there was one more picture I wanted to add... oh well.

Darkness Lies Just Beneath the Surface

Link thought he defeated his evil counterpart in the Water Temple, but no one can exist without darkness.  Shadow Link lies within, waiting.

The pixels move a bit when the circle travel over them, but it's so slight that I don't mind it too much.  I LOVE this piece.  Masking does wonders for this kind of project.

Link, meet Fireworks

My patience with this piece is now NONEXISTANT.  BE DONE.  I would have made it pause on each frame a bit, BUT I'M TIRED OF IT.  NO MORE.

I used both Fireworks and Flash for this.  Lots of color burn and color dodge, along with painting with lowered alpha, and contrasting the colors.  It was alot of fun.  In the final picture the shading is acutally alot different from what it was in the beginning.

Invader Zim

EDIT2: Awhaha... Lame.  Now it's too big for the column.  xD
EDIT: Ahahaha!  Take that! I fixed the dimensions.  Now the pixels aren't all weird.

---

Stupid pixels, getting all weird in the transfer.  YOU WERE PERFECT BEFORE.  Whatever man.  I'm guessing it's from the height change to 400 from 640.  Oh well.  On the up side though, it's ZIIIIIIM.  Yeah Gir, you drink that chocolate bubblegum.

Just a simple application of Alpha and Classic Tween.  Once I got through the first half, I did the rest on my own.

Ball, use Bounce!

Ooooooold assignment.  I don't know why it never struck me to upload this.  :P

I never knew so many little things went into making a bouncing ball look real.  The shadow, moving the shadow, the sizing of the ball on different frames, the light reflection, and the tool that slows the ball down and speeds the ball up depending on whether it's going up or down.

Go for the Star Rod and SMASH!

EDIT: Fixed some typos

I COULD NOT GET KIRBY'S JUMP TO LOOK REAL FOR MY LIFE.  It's so... not smooth and then he spins weird at the end of it.  BLAAAAH.  It's also hard to tell if they're fighting at The Fountain of Dreams or Final Destination.  XP

This project was basically me having to get real in tune with Classic Tween.  Then I had to worry about lining the Star Rod up with Kirby's frames, which they don't, but YOU can't tell.  Haha, Star Rod also has no white stripes.  This submission was supposed to be uploaded BEFORE the last one, but my teacher called for that one to get done, so I had to finish this one after.

Get up Marth!  Kirby is going to SMASH yoooooou!

When the Twilight Passed

BEHOLD: Hyrule after Link saved the land from being swallowed by darkness.  AHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Ooooo, I love the magic wand tool.  I never knew it could seperate images so cleanly.  <3

Side into Home

Originally, I had made a longer animation thatn this, with more detail.  Originally I wrote a longer message.  Then the computer decided to be a jerk.  To lazy to rewrite everything.  I learned... how to make it look like a character is in high-speed motion.  Pretty cool.

EDIT: Wow... Lots of typos.  Lol.

Reach for the Stars

EDIT: I finally got this animation working again, I also fixed it so Kirby's cheeks move with his eyes.

Erm... star.  And according to Kirby, that's easier said than done.  Classic tween was my best friend in this project. I also think we were told to use Kirby as a subject because he's just a ball... with limbs.  Eeeeeasy.  Squishing him when he jumped and landed made a very nice effect.

I want this car.

I never new making stuff move was so simple.  Now I will know if I ever need to make something spin, I won't have to rotate it myself on multiple frames  The wheels where the easy part, then the fun part was drawing the actual car.  xD  Have you ever seen that real Pikachu car?  Google it.  It's cool.

Too sexy to be just a square

I want a Rubix Cube of these colors.  So pretty.  They remind me of Easter and candy.  :3  Looking at it makes me want jello.

I was so rudely interupted during this lesson, so I only got as far as the cube.  No sphere for you!  D:<

Changing the type of overflow gives planes a really nice effect.  The 3D look to it is amazing.

Look at the Flowers!

I am pleased with the sunflowers.  :3  They grow on a floating hill.

The star tool is so efficient for making flowers, they actually look really nice.  You can choose two colors so then it looks even better.  <3

A City with a Little Cheating

We were supposed to draw a city scene with a vehicle of some sort... I cheated a bit.  I used the square tool for the buildings, just not the boat.  xP

You know, it never actually struck me that I could make buildings in such a simple way.  I really like how they came out.  Sizing them right was a little troublesome, but it was fine.
